Job Summary
As a Guest Service Representative, you will rotate through various high-intensity zones within the airport, from the bustling ticketing lobby to the high-stakes departure gates. Your core mission is to facilitate a flawless travel experience, resolving complex ticketing issues, managing the physical logistics of boarding, and acting as the definitive voice of United Airlines during both routine operations and sudden travel disruptions. This airport job requires you to be highly visible, constantly moving, and perpetually engaged with thousands of travelers.
Comprehensive Daily Responsibilities
- Lobby Concierge & Ticketing: Actively manage the flow of the departure lobby. You will process complex international itineraries, calculate and collect baggage fees, and assist passengers with navigating state-of-the-art self-tagging kiosks.
- Seamless Boarding Execution: Assume complete control of the gate area. You will organize the boarding process by strict boarding groups, enforce carry-on baggage dimensions, and operate the jet bridge to securely dock with the aircraft.
- Baggage & Cargo Solutions: In the event of lost or delayed luggage, you will utilize United’s advanced tracking networks to locate missing items, file detailed claims, and arrange expedited courier deliveries directly to the passenger's final destination.
- Crisis & De-escalation Management: Serve as the front-line problem solver during mass flight cancellations, ground stops, or severe weather events. You will rapidly rebook passengers onto partner airlines and provide essential accommodations with deep empathy.
- Safety Adherence: Maintain a relentless focus on safety by verifying passenger identities against flight manifests and ensuring no unauthorized individuals bypass secure terminal checkpoints.
