Job Summary
As a Gate Operations Agent, you are the face of Delta Air Lines from the terminal to the tarmac. You will manage the critical boarding process, ensuring flights depart safely and precisely on time. This role demands exceptional communication skills, grace under pressure, and the ability to command a room. You will navigate complex logistical challenges, provide up-to-the-minute information to our guests, and work hand-in-hand with flight crews. This is a fully on-site, hands-on airport job that requires constant engagement with the traveling public.
Key Responsibilities
- Flight Boarding & Dispatch: Execute the boarding process with efficiency and authority. Make clear, professional public address announcements, verify travel documents, and operate the jet bridge safely to connect the terminal to the aircraft.
- Irregular Operations Management: Act as the ultimate problem solver during weather delays or flight cancellations. Rebook passengers, issue hotel or meal vouchers, and provide empathetic, transparent communication to ease travel disruptions.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict FAA and TSA regulations at the gate. Monitor carry-on baggage compliance, ensuring cabin limits are not exceeded, and process gate-checked luggage securely.
- Flight Crew Coordination: Maintain constant communication with pilots, flight attendants, and ramp agents to ensure all pre-departure requirements are met, culminating in an on-time pushback.

Requirements
